What happens when I arrive for my session?
When you first arrive you will find a warm, relaxed, comfortable environment where you will feel at ease being yourself. We will sit down before your photo spa session to discuss any further questions you may have and also introduce some of the corrective pose work that will expand on as we progress. We will review your wardrobe choices and review the important things you would like to achieve or capture in your images. Then I will show you the studio and your changing room and we will get started.
Can you tell me more about corrective posing?
Because each of us is shaped differently and have such a variety of features, there are different poses that will accentuate what we want to show and hide what we do not. Everyone is unique. There are many tricks that can be used to completely change how you look based on posture, your angle, location of the camera, etc. Often these poses include good posture and for those of us more physically challenged, you may even feel like you've had a bit of a workout by the time we are through. And that all adds to the endorphin rush a great session can generate. We will be discussing many of these techniques throughout your photo-spa, and by the time you leave you will have a greater understanding of what the camera sees and how to make yourself look your best the next time someone points a camera in your direction.
What about makeup & hair?
Please come to your session with your hair and makeup complete. For the camera you may want to wear your makeup a little heavier than normal to really accent your eyes and lips. Many of our clients wear false eyelashes, although this is not necessary. Also, you may want to try a lip paint or stain that will keep your color alive throughout your entire session with just quick gloss touch-ups. There are many brands available and most have amazing results that will last the entire day.
Typically loose flowing hair gives you more flexibility during your session as it can be loosely pulled up or softly positioned to frame your face and body. We recommend you bring your hair brush and makeup with you for touch-ups. If you would like to have someone assist you with your hair and/or makeup, please inquire as these services can also be scheduled for you.
A vast majority of your shots will include your hands, so please remember to paint your nails or have a manicure before your session. If you think you might like some portraits barefoot or have open toed shoes, remember to paint your toes too.

What type clothing should I wear/bring?
Your shoot will be totally customized for whatever look(s) you would like to achieve. You may bring as many outfits as you would like (typically up to 5 seems to work well) and you will have a private room for wardrobe changes. Clients have chosen to wear everything from their boyfriend's leather jackets, jerseys, and clothing to swimware to evening gowns or fur coats. Many ladies want their portraits taken in their favorite lingerie or even just with beautifully draped fabrics. A sure fire winner is a strapless bra for those bare shoulder shots. And a simple black tank top can be a versatile asset to have with you for your shoot. We have feather boas, scarves, jewelry, etc. that you may use as accents. Your session is geared to make you feel beautiful and comfortable and I will photograph you any way you desire.
Should I bring anything else?
Feel free to bring any fun props you desire - sunglasses, hats, feathers, gloves, masks - whatever you think might be fun. Heels are always a good idea as they do such a wonderful job enhancing legs. Other fun things might include fishnets (a wonderful slimming trick) a favorite oversized handbag, and always a show stopper - chunky jewelry. Our prop room can provide you with many of these accents, but feel free to bring anything you think would help showcase your personality. You may also want to bring things like a musical instrument, an umbrella, a favorite antique hand mirror, or even that special guy in your life. The possibilities are endless. You may also want to bring a couple disks of your favorite tunes that are upbeat and make you feel positive and vibrant.
When and how will I see my images?
Within four to six weeks of your photo-spa session your images will be available to be viewed. This process takes time because we will choose the most spectacular 25 to 40 of your images and completely airbrush and edit each of these to feature the most glamorous you. Your images will be posted in a private web gallery that only you will have access to unless you choose to share it. These images will be low resolution non-printable files, but you will be able to right click and save any of them to post and share on facebook, myspace, etc. or email to a friend.
From this gallery, you will select the images you would like to order with a wide wide variety of reprint products and sizes available. We will also be able to further process any of these images to create unique artwork designed specifically for you.
Should you prefer your images not be uploaded to a private web gallery, we will schedule an appointment where you will be able to privately view them at our studio.
